A hundred years ago, Qingdao was controlled by Germany and later Japan. The influence of these two countries is felt even a century later in the architecture, churches, German street names, Japanese pagodas, and by no less than the Bavarian creation of Tsingato Beer-China’s oldest and most exported alcoholic beverage.
Alex and I are setting out on a year working and going to school in this city of nearly 13 million people. It will be an adventure every day!
