Since we did not get move this weekend, we planned a hike at nearby Mt. Fushan. The mountain, which apparently resembles a dragon is entirely surrounded by a mountain of high-rise buildings and nearly 9 million people. One of the trail heads is a 10 minute walk from our temporary apartment. The first mile was strangely paved in concrete, but after that opens up to a more traditional trail, marred only by litter and broken glass. The views are amazing and gives you a better sense of how densely populated Qingdao really is but also how beautiful the natural landscape is from up high.
