One of many reservoirs and dam in the area of the Laoshan Mountains. This one looms over a small village and provides drinking water to Qingdao and Tsingtao beer.
We spent the day taking two buses to reach the end of the road that leads to the village. We hiked for an hour to reach this reservoir, only to learn it was off limits to swimming. No one wants swimmers in their future beer. In any case, we found a terrific small restaurant and feasted on rice and who knows what else before heading back down the hill and the bus stop along the ocean highway back to Qingdao.
