The real emperor’s summer palace is long gone, so 20k outside of Xi’an they have recreated one around some of the ruins.  Thankfully, they left the ruins, like a jade swimming pool,  in ruins and only protected them from further decay.  At night apparently, they have a live actor show about the romance between the emperor and his favorite queen that includes music, lighted water displays, explosions of fire from the lake and fireworks. Who knew China had a little Myrtle Beach to it?
