After Hanoi, Hoi An in central coastal Vietnam seemed placid in contrast. Although there are plenty of noisy scooters, bikes, taxis, and rickshaws, the pace is much more relaxed and forgiving. Always a resort and river town, Hoi An is mostly these days filled with travelers and as such, not in such a hurry to get from point A to B.
