Kyoto

Kyoto survived the second world war largely unscathed, spared unlike its fellow Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, largely due to its cultural relics, lack of heavy industry,  and long history as Japan’s imperial capital. In addition to  hundreds of Buddhist temples and shrines, simple tin buildings with impossibly vivid paint dot the ancient city.

京都は主にその文化遺跡、日本の帝国の首都として重工業の欠如、そして長い歴史に、広島と長崎のその仲間の日本の都市とは異なり惜しま大部分は無傷で第二次世界大戦を、生き残った。仏教寺院や神社の何百ものに加えて、信じられないほど鮮やかなペイントを持つ単純なスズの建物は古代都市に点在しています。
